一場饗宴 百樣風華
據統計，臺灣每五個人就有一個客家人，近年來，在行政院客家委員會強力推廣下，客家文化、客家美食亦成了臺灣人生活上不可或缺的要素之一，而客家人在美學上的成就也不容小覷，因此，此次客委會特別企劃一場精采絕倫的客家美學饗宴-「臺灣客家美術百人展」，要與民眾共同分享。
本次展出，籌備近一年半，為表示對此次展覽的重視，特邀請國立中正紀念堂管理處協助辦理，並廣邀來自臺灣北、中、南、東各地的客籍美術家，以各自擅長的美術表現方法，將客家的精神、文化及內涵，與藝術美學互相結合，展現上個世紀迄今的藝術風貌，以發揚客家美術創作之美，記錄客家美學成就的軌跡。
「臺灣客家美術百人展」展出了11種不同媒材表現的創作，包括油畫、水彩、油彩、膠彩、水墨、書法、雕塑、陶藝、攝影、複合媒材及數位多媒體等，內容豐富、多樣且精采，透過此次跨媒材且多達百位美術家參與的客家美術大展，希望能帶給觀賞者無限的視覺饗宴。
One Artistic Feast, A Hundred Creative Interpretations
Demographic statistics show that in Taiwan, one out of five people is of Hakka background. With that in mind, the Council for Hakka Affairs under the Executive Yuan in recent years has spared no efforts in promoting Hakka-themed events. Hakka culture and cuisines have thus become an integral part in Taiwan people’s multifaceted lifestyles; Hakka people’s cultural attainments are also to be reckoned with. With much to prove and much to offer, the Council for Hakka Affairs put together an amazing Hakka art exposition, the Hundred Taiwan Hakka Artists Exhibition, so that everyone can partake in – and feast their eyes upon this extraordinary art fair.
The planning of the exhibition took about eighteen months. The Council enlisted help from the Management Office of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, inviting Hakka artists from northern, central and southern Taiwan to translate the Hakka spirit, culture, and content into the artistic domain, and integrated with a unique artistic and aesthetic element using what they work best in artistic renditions to present a detailed creative lineage from the last century, exalting Hakka’s fine arts creation commitment and tracing the rich content in the Hakka aesthetic attainments.
The Hundred Taiwan Hakka Artists Exhibition showcased artworks of eleven different mediums, including oil painting, watercolor, paint, gouache, ink painting, calligraphy, sculpture, ceramic, photography, composite mediums and digital multimedia, bringing to the audience a rich array of creative viewpoints. We hope to enlighten - and entertain - the audience with this unprecedented exposition featuring 113 Hakka artists.
